WELL ASSESSMENT/INSPECTION
This assessment verifies the well’s condition and determines its ability to supply the required amount of water to support the occupants of the facility. This assessment includes:
- Well inspection – A complete well inspection will verify the structural integrity of the well and its components and includes: identification of the well l ocation, inspection of the well cap and well casing, drainage to and from the well, assessment of the well pump and pressure tank, assessment of additional well on the property, etc.,
- Well recovery test – This involves pumping water out of a well and then giving it time to recharge. This can help you determine how much water you can draw from the well. A well should be able to pump 14 L/min (3.6 US gal/min) for 120 minutes or 450 L/person/day (119 US gal/person/day)
- Well record retrieval if required - The well record will generally include: location of the well, date of well drilling, depth and diameter of well, static water level, pumping water level, recommended pumping rate and the recommended pump setting.
A Certificate of Potability can be obtained in 24-48 hours.
